Short curly hair might seem challenging, but it shouldn’t be. Read how you can learn to love your curls and be the envy of many straight-haired women. Let’s face it; we always want something we don’t have. If you are born with curly hair – like me – you probably dream of having shiny, sleek hair. You probably hate that your curls frizz with the first sign of humidity or that your styling options are limited. Most likely you’re afraid to go short, because you might end up looking like a poodle. But nothing is less true! You have lots of styling options, and you could even go short if you want to. If you’ve really set your mind on straight hair, then you can either straighten it with a flat iron or opt for something a bit more permanent such as a Japanese or Brazilian straightening procedure. However, I say be positive and embrace your curls! Plenty of straight-haired women actually want your curls, so flaunt them! Another major benefit is that you most probably only have to wash your hair once or twice a week. There are a few tips and tricks for styling curly hair, but all in all, it’s fairly simple.
Sometimes you just have to accept that your hair curls; simple and straight-forward. It will save you a lot of frustration. But know that if you want to go straight, you can. Just make sure to invest in a ceramic flat iron; it’s just that much friendlier on your hair. To keep frizz under control, it is imperative to moisture your hair and use a styling product with some silicone. A great tip is to use a deep conditioning mask once a week and avoid blow drying. If you must blow dry, then wait as long as possible and use a diffuser. Finally, use shampoo on your scalp and conditioner on the lengths. The shampoo will also reach the lengths when rinsing it out, and this is sufficient. Putting conditioner on your scalp might cause your hair to get greasy prematurely and weigh it down unnecessary.
